Launching in September, Vietnam Exhibition Fair Centre is set to be among the world’s top ten largest exhibition spaces.

Vietnam Exhibition Fair Centre (VEFAC) in Hanoi could open its doors in August this year, with a planned inauguration around the time of the country’s 80th anniversary of National Day, which takes place on 2 September.

Vietnam Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh announced these plans following a visit to the construction site earlier this week, where he urged the work to be completed by the end of July, according to reports in several local media.

Construction of the venue, which spans 90 hectares, began last year. Located in Dong Anh District in the northeast of Hanoi, it is set to become one of the world’s top ten largest exhibition venues when completed, in terms of both total area and exhibition space. It replaces an older exhibition centre located downtown, popularly known as Giang Vio, after its location.

The exhibition space will be divided into nine sections, each covering over 10,000sqm, with a central hall spanning more than 7,000 sqm, and a hotel and office space planned for the complex.
