Georgia Exhibition Spotlights Women-Led Businesses

On 13-14 September 2025, Expo Georgia in Tbilisi hosted a large-scale exhibition-sale event dedicated to products by women entrepreneurs. The initiative was organized under UN Women Georgia with support from the EU, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), and others.

About 200 women-led businesses from across Georgia participated, presenting unique products such as local foods and wines, handmade goods, eco-friendly items, and personal care products. Visitors could both browse and purchase items directly.

The exhibition-sale event aimed not only to promote sales but also to highlight the impact of EU- and international donor support in empowering women’s entrepreneurship, encouraging community development, and fostering sustainability.

Organisers configured the venue to allow direct interaction between entrepreneurs and the public, encouraging conversations, feedback, and business opportunities beyond just display.

Besides product stalls, there were educational components—sharing how women business owners have built resilience, innovated in product design, adopted eco-friendly practices, and balanced creative expression with commercial viability.

The event also functions as a visibility platform for smaller or lesser-known brands, helping them establish client connections and raising awareness about their offerings.

From an Exhibition Globe perspective, this initiative stands out in how exhibitions can support social objectives: inclusion, gender equality, economic empowerment—while still being about display, trade, and design.

The success of the event reflects growing demand for markets where consumers actively support women-led brands, and shows how exhibitions can be harnessed not just for commerce but for community and identity.
