Greece and Oman are deepening their trade and business ties through the exhibitions sector, following the signing of a new memorandum of understanding (MoU) between TIF-Helexpo, Greece’s national exhibition organizer, and the Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre (OCEC).
The agreement, signed in Thessaloniki, Greece, establishes a framework for cooperation in the areas of trade fairs, business networking, commerce promotion, and institutional collaboration.
The agreement was signed by Dr. Kyriakos Pozrikidis, CEO of TIF-Helexpo, and Said Salim Al Shanfari, CEO of OCEC. Also present were Tasos Tzikas, President of TIF-Helexpo, and Michail Michail, Senior Consultant.
During the signing, both organizations highlighted the long-standing ties between Greece and Oman, their shared commitment to economic development, and the importance of fostering international partnerships to unlock business opportunities in both countries.
Under the MoU, TIF-Helexpo will be able to organize and lead business and institutional missions to events hosted by OCEC. In return, OCEC will gain reciprocal opportunities to participate in TIF-Helexpo’s sector-specific exhibitions in Greece.
The two sides also agreed to support national exhibitor participation and official delegations in each other’s events. They will exchange know-how and best practices, along with insights related to organizing and developing exhibitions and business-related events.
Future collaboration will include B2B networking sessions, business meetings, and thematic seminars highlighting market opportunities in both Greece and Oman.
The MoU also foresees facilitating meetings between government agencies, chambers of commerce, business associations, and private-sector entities. Investment promotion and matchmaking events will also be explored as part of the cooperation.
During the meeting, TIF-Helexpo executives briefed the OCEC delegation on the Thessaloniki expo center redevelopment plan currently underway. CEO Al Shanfari expressed strong interest in the project and extended an invitation for a future presentation of the plan in Oman.
