In an important step to elevate the workforce capabilities in India’s buried events industry, Indian exhibitions, conferences and events Services Association (IESA) and Media and Entertainment Skill Council (MSC) organized a memorandum (MEO) from 12-13 August to 12 August in the inauguration of Bharat Expo Shop 2025 (MESC). The agreement aims to develop mice (meetings, encouragement, conferences, exhibitions) and a live event segment to develop the training structure for skills, references and qualifications and training framework for upskil professionals.
The fifth edition of the India Expo Shop organized by IESA called over 100 exhibitors, 300-plus decision makers and more than 2,000 professionals. The event is recognized as one of the major platforms of the country for the discovery of innovation, stability, next-gene technology and talent development in the service sector.
The MoU ceremony was an attraction of the incident. Ms. Pooja Arora, COO of MESC, and senior data from both organizations jointly Ms. Uma Menon (General Secretary, IESA), Mr. Soraj Dhawan (Chairman, Indian Exhibition Industries Association), Mr. Phil Chung (CEO/CMO, Kenxine IICC), M. India), Shri Ashish Jain (Founder, Indian Pollution Control Association), and Mr. Sagar Pingali (EVP, Event and Entertainment Management Association).
Sri Dhawan emphasized the urgency of exploiting new skills as India’s exhibitions are waiting for a significant scale in the coming years. He observed that the estimated revenue could be doubled within three years and pointed to the five strategic columns required for fuel development: advanced technology implementation, permanent infrastructure, regional site development, global level workforce training, and unwavering commitment to stability.
Mr. Chung highlighted that eco-cladients have become an investment criteria for international players- given that the decisions have been on the Matrix such as CO₂ emissions per event. He appreciated Yashobhomi’s drive to align with the global ESG benchmark.
In fact, Mr. Jatinder Kapoor, President of IESA, referred to the speed of India’s mice. He said that the size of the sector market in 2024 increased by USD 49.4 billion in 2024, a target of over 100 billion USD by 2030. Despite hosting more than 35,000 corporate events annually, India is currently less than 5 percent of the global mice market and will have to increase its share. He emphasized the initiative like eventful Bharat- important for the new sister-platform of the event to promote emerging players- sectoral deforestation and competition.
On stability and responsible practices, Mr. Ashish Jain urged to integrate waste deficiency in exhibitions, carbon footprint minimalization and environmentally friendly material to ensure a permanent positive environmental heritage.
Ms. Prashas allowed that skill development to every segment of events ecosystem. He called for regionally distributed centers of standardized courses, health and safety criteria, permanent material use and excellence focused on moral conduct. He invited the players of the industry to invest resources, including CSR contribution to support and scale these institutions.
MOU between IESA and Mesc is expected to obtain a series of structured programs to cover domains such as certificate courses to hand workshops, technology-mechanized event planning, permanent execution and global best practices. It is ready to redefine the readiness of the workforce in alignment with India’s growing role in global mice and entertainment programs.
As the Industry Stakeholders calls India Expo Shop 2025, the partnership between IESA and MESC indicates a strategic framework for professional development. It is ready to form an efficient talent base, capable of distributing high quality, durable and competitive events- forcing India to become a major global mice destination.
