India Maritime Week 2025 Exhibition kicks off at the NESCO Exhibition Centre in Goregaon East, Mumbai, drawing significant attention as the country’s premier maritime industry event. In preparation for the event and the anticipated visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Mumbai Traffic Police have issued stringent traffic advisories and vehicular movement restrictions around the venue.
The India Maritime Week 2025 Exhibition is designed to bring together global maritime stakeholders, industry leaders, shipping companies, port authorities and innovative service-providers to explore and shape the future of India’s maritime sector. The scale and importance of this exhibition have prompted sweeping traffic management measures in the western suburbs of Mumbai. From 2 pm to 9 pm on 29 October 2025, heavy vehicles are completely banned from the stretch of the Western Express Highway (WEH) between Vakola Flyover and Dahisar Toll Naka, in both directions.
Further restrictions will remain in force from 27–31 October, with no-entry zones, one-way diversions, and parking bans around the NESCO service roads and adjacent junctions. Specifically, the stretch from Mrinaltai Gore Junction to the NESCO Gap will operate under strict traffic control from 8 am to 10 pm daily. Only emergency vehicles, VVIP convoys and pre-cleared local resident vehicles are permitted access.
These measures highlight the significance of the India Maritime Week 2025 Exhibition as a national maritime hub. Attendees should plan their travel accordingly, allowing for additional time, using alternate routes via JVLR or WEH service roads, and avoiding the restricted corridor during the specified windows. The traffic police have urged commuters to adhere to diversion signage and online updates.
With the event expected to host high-level dialogues, global maritime CEOs and new industry announcements, the traffic curbs signal that India Maritime Week 2025 Exhibition is more than a trade gathering—it is a strategic moment in India’s maritime growth story.
