ColorCraft, a leading trade show exhibit design and fabrication firm based in Orlando, has announced the launch of the ColorCraft Event Management Scholarship in partnership with the University of Central Florida Rosen College of Hospitality Management. The new scholarship program aims to support students pursuing careers in the events and hospitality industries and will be awarded annually.
The initiative marks a significant milestone for ColorCraft as the company continues to invest in the future of the events sector. The scholarship was introduced following the company’s 25th anniversary celebrations last year, reflecting its commitment to giving back to the industry that has played a major role in its growth.
Supporting the Next Generation of Event Professionals
Under the scholarship program, ColorCraft will provide a full-ride scholarship to one eligible junior or senior student majoring in Event Management at the University of Central Florida. To qualify, applicants must maintain a minimum GPA of 3.0 and demonstrate previous work experience in hospitality or event-related roles.
Eligible work experience may include positions in hotels, restaurants, venues, or other service environments connected to the hospitality and events sector.
In addition to financial support, the scholarship also requires recipients to complete an internship as part of the program. This component is designed to provide students with practical industry experience while they continue their academic studies.
Industry Leaders Emphasise Talent Development
Commenting on the initiative, Doug Hughes said the scholarship represents an opportunity for the company to recognise the people and experiences that contributed to its success over the past 25 years.
According to Hughes, partnering with the Rosen School allows the company to support students who have already shown dedication to building careers in the events industry. He emphasised that the scholarship is intended to help individuals who are committed to professional growth and long-term careers in event management.
The program is also part of ColorCraft’s broader focus on workforce development within the experiential marketing and trade show industries.
Bridging Education and Real-World Experience
Joe Aquila highlighted the importance of supporting emerging talent in the hospitality and events sectors. He noted that developing skilled professionals is essential for the future growth of the industry.
The scholarship program aims to bridge the gap between academic learning and practical experience by encouraging students to combine classroom education with hands-on work in the field.
By supporting students who already have exposure to the hospitality industry, ColorCraft hopes to help them transition smoothly into meaningful careers after graduation.
