The IAAPA has officially announced the postponement of its highly anticipated inaugural IAAPA Expo Middle East, originally scheduled for 2026. The decision was taken by the association’s Board of Directors after careful evaluation of the evolving situation in the Middle East, with a strong emphasis on ensuring the safety and well-being of all stakeholders
Event Rescheduled to 2027
The IAAPA Expo Middle East 2026 was initially set to take place from 30 March to 2 April 2026 in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. However, following the Board’s decision, the event will no longer proceed as planned and has now been rescheduled to 12–15 April 2027.
The postponement reflects IAAPA’s commitment to delivering a safe, successful, and impactful event experience for exhibitors, attendees, and partners from across the global attractions industry.
Safety and Stakeholder Interests Take Priority
IAAPA emphasized that the decision was made with the best interests of its global community in mind. The association cited ongoing regional uncertainties as a key factor behind the move, reinforcing that the health, safety, and confidence of participants remain paramount.
The Board’s resolution followed extensive consultations with key stakeholders, including the IAAPA EMEA Regional Advisory Board, the IAAPA EMEA Manufacturers & Suppliers Committee, and the MENALAC Board of Directors, along with exhibitors, speakers, and regional members.
Leadership Statement
Jakob Wahl, President and CEO of IAAPA, acknowledged the significance of the decision and the efforts already made by industry participants.
“This was not an easy decision,” he said. “We recognize the time, investment, and commitment of our members and partners dedicated to what would have been the inaugural IAAPA Expo Middle East. We are grateful for their support and understanding as we prioritize the safety and best interests of our global community.”
Support for Exhibitors and Attendees
IAAPA has confirmed that it will directly reach out to exhibitors, sponsors, speakers, and registered attendees regarding next steps. The association will provide guidance, support measures, and updated participation options following the rescheduling.
This proactive communication aims to ensure minimal disruption while maintaining strong relationships with industry stakeholders.
Continued Commitment to the Middle East Market
Despite the postponement, IAAPA has reaffirmed its long-term commitment to the Middle East’s rapidly expanding attractions and leisure sector. The region continues to be a key growth market, driven by large-scale tourism developments, entertainment investments, and evolving consumer demand.
The rescheduled IAAPA Expo Middle East in 2027 is expected to bring together global industry leaders, innovators, and decision-makers under more stable and favorable conditions.
