The India Convention Promotion Bureau (ICPB), in collaboration with Goa Tourism and the Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL), successfully hosted the ICPB MICE Roadshow in Goa from March 25 to 27, 2026. The event served as a strategic platform to promote Goa as a leading destination for Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions (MICE), while fostering collaboration across the industry.
Strong Participation from Key Industry Stakeholders
The roadshow brought together 23 distinguished delegates representing diverse sectors within the MICE ecosystem. Participants included officials from the Ministry of Tourism, heads of national associations (both medical and non-medical), Professional Conference Organisers (PCOs), Destination Management Companies (DMCs), and corporate stakeholders. This wide-ranging participation highlighted the increasing importance of India’s MICE sector and its growing potential on the global stage.
Networking, Business Sessions, and Industry Insights
The three-day event featured a dynamic mix of networking engagements, business sessions, keynote addresses, and insightful presentations. Senior representatives from ICPB, the Ministry of Tourism, Goa Tourism, and IHCL shared their perspectives on industry growth, infrastructure development, and opportunities in the Indian MICE landscape.
These sessions provided valuable insights into evolving trends, policy frameworks, and strategies required to position India as a competitive global MICE destination.
ICPB Vision for India as a Global MICE Hub
In her welcome address, Dr. Poonam Rajput, Executive Director of ICPB, emphasized the bureau’s long-term vision of establishing India as a global hub for MICE events. She highlighted the importance of ecosystem development, seamless business processes, and strong industry partnerships in achieving this goal.
Dr. Rajput also stressed that collaboration between government bodies, private stakeholders, and industry experts is essential to build a robust and globally competitive MICE environment.
Goa Emerging as a Leading MICE Destination
Mr. Ranjit Phillipose, Senior Vice President – Operations at IHCL (Goa), spoke about Goa’s evolution beyond a traditional leisure destination. He noted that the region is rapidly emerging as a preferred choice for MICE events, supported by strong infrastructure, improved connectivity, and world-class hospitality services.
He further emphasized the need for a unified and collaborative approach among stakeholders to fully leverage Goa’s potential as a MICE powerhouse.
