India’s exhibition and MICE industry celebrated a defining milestone as the 15th IEIA Open Seminar & Exhibition Services Expo 2026 concluded successfully, marking 20 years of the Indian Exhibition Industry Association and reaffirming India’s position as one of the world’s fastest-growing exhibition markets.
Organised by the Indian Exhibition Industry Association, the landmark international conclave brought together over 1,200 industry leaders, global delegates, policymakers, venue owners, exhibition organisers, service providers, trade associations, and senior government representatives, making it the largest and most influential gathering of India’s exhibition ecosystem.
Celebrating Two Decades of Industry Transformation
The 2026 edition held special significance as it commemorated 20 years of IEIA’s contribution to India’s exhibition and convention sector. Over the last two decades, the association has played a central role in industry advocacy, ecosystem development, strategic collaboration, and strengthening India’s global exhibition footprint.
Held under the theme “When the Right Dots Meet, Industry Moves,” the seminar served as a high-impact platform for collaboration, innovation, knowledge exchange, and strategic networking while reinforcing India’s emergence as a global exhibitions and MICE powerhouse.

Tourism Ministry Sees MICE as Key Growth Driver
Addressing the gathering, Suman Billa said India’s tourism sector aims to increase its contribution to GDP from 5% to 10% over the next decade, with the MICE segment expected to be a major growth engine.
He noted that India’s rapidly expanding infrastructure, including airports, expressways, and convention centres, has created strong foundations for future growth. The next priority, he added, is better utilisation and optimisation of exhibition and convention assets through stronger public-private collaboration.
IEIA Reaffirms Vision for India as a Global Expo Hub

He emphasised that the association continues to work closely with the Ministry of Tourism and the Ministry of Commerce & Industry to strengthen India’s exhibition ecosystem and contribute to the national vision of Viksit Bharat while positioning India as the Expo Hub of the World.
India Exposition Mart Highlights Expanding Opportunities
Rakesh Kumar, Chairman of India Exposition Mart Limited, highlighted the shared milestone of both IEIA and IEML completing 20 years.
He pointed to the upcoming Noida International Airport as a major connectivity boost that will unlock even greater opportunities for India’s exhibition and convention industry in the coming years.
