New Delhi is set to host a vivid visual journey through Kerala with the opening of Lenscape Kerala, a curated photo exhibition by the Kerala State Tourism Department, at the Travancore Palace Art Gallery on January 20, 2026. The exhibition brings together 100 striking photographs captured by 10 leading travel and media photographers from across India.
Designed as a visual narrative of Kerala’s diverse identity, Lenscape Kerala showcases the state’s natural landscapes and cultural richness, featuring images of lush forests, misty hills, serene backwaters, rich wildlife, heritage architecture, vibrant festivals, rural life, coastal communities, and spiritual spaces. Each photographer spent five days travelling across different regions of Kerala, documenting themes that reflect the state’s varied geography and social fabric.
The exhibition is curated by eminent art curator and critic Uma Nair, while renowned wildlife and conservation photographer Balan Madhavan serves as the director of photography. According to the organisers, Lenscape Kerala presents both iconic and lesser-seen facets of the state, offering viewers a fresh perspective on its evolving tourism story.
Kerala Tourism Minister P A Mohamed Riyas will inaugurate the exhibition in New Delhi. Following its debut, Lenscape Kerala will embark on a nationwide tour covering nine cities, including major metros and state capitals, before concluding in Surat on March 31, 2026.
The initiative aligns with Kerala Tourism’s strategic focus on eco-tourism, heritage tourism, and culturally immersive travel. By highlighting local traditions, spirituality, conservation, and sustainable practices, the exhibition reflects growing global travel trends that prioritise authentic and environmentally responsible experiences.
Positioned as more than a destination showcase, Lenscape Kerala functions as a travelling visual platform, carrying stories of the state across India. Through powerful imagery, the exhibition reinforces Kerala’s identity as a destination that seamlessly blends nature, culture, and conservation, offering diverse and meaningful travel experiences.
