LOCK5 Marks 20 Years with Major Rebrand New Website and Three-Pillar Expansion

Hampshire-based event fit-out specialist LOCK5 has marked its 20th year in business with a full brand relaunch, new website, and a strategic repositioning built around three core pillars: Design, Fit Out, and Experience.

The relaunch reflects a significant evolution for the company, which has grown from a specialist marquee lining and event fit-out provider into a fully integrated, end-to-end events partner for high-profile clients across the UK and Europe.

Over the past two decades, LOCK5 has delivered work at major events including Royal Ascot, the RHS Chelsea Flower Show, Glorious Goodwood, and Frieze Art Fair, establishing itself as a trusted name in large-scale event infrastructure and creative build delivery.

Strategic Shift to an Integrated Events Model

The business restructure formalises a shift towards a more connected service model, designed to eliminate the traditional fragmentation between design, build, and delivery teams within the events industry.

Founder and Managing Director Rob Mackay said the change reflects both internal growth and evolving client expectations.

“For a long time, the industry has operated in silos; design here, fit-out there, experience somewhere else entirely,” he said. “Clients end up managing multiple suppliers, and the result is often a diluted outcome. We’ve spent 20 years doing the hard part brilliantly. Now we’re connecting it properly so clients get one trusted partner from concept to completion.”

Mackay added that the relaunch was shaped by extensive client engagement over the past year, with a focus on improving integration, delivery quality, and accountability across projects.

Three Core Pillars: Design, Fit Out and Experience

LOCK5’s refreshed offering is structured around three interconnected service pillars.

Design

Led by Head of Design Lulu Beasley, formerly Royal Ascot Venue Experience Manager, the Design division covers concept development, spatial planning, CAD, 3D rendering, and AI-assisted visualisation. The team supports clients from initial brief through to detailed design, enabling clear pre-build understanding of event spaces.

Fit Out

The Fit Out division remains the company’s core operational strength. LOCK5 delivers large-scale marquee lining and interior event infrastructure, supported by in-house manufacturing capabilities including CNC precision cutting.

Services include starcloth, blackout and bespoke draping, hard walling, joinery, decking, painting, and scenic construction. Over the past 12 months, the company reports installing 65,000m² of lining, manufacturing 35,000m² in-house, and laundering 95,000m² of materials.

For scale comparison, Terminal 5 at Heathrow Airport covers approximately 64,944m², highlighting the volume of work delivered by the business.

Experience

The newly established Experience pillar introduces a dedicated events and immersive environments division under the banner Experiences by LOCK5. This includes original concepts such as Dining in Plain Sight, winter wonderlands, ice rinks, and bespoke hospitality installations.

The division allows clients to either adopt pre-developed experiential concepts or integrate LOCK5’s creative production capabilities directly into their own events.

Commercial Growth and European Expansion

Head of Growth & Partnerships Tanya Crowe is leading the company’s commercial expansion strategy, including opportunities in Ireland and wider European markets.

She said the integrated model strengthens client relationships and improves delivery certainty.

“Clients aren’t just buying a service, they’re buying confidence,” she explained. “Confidence that design translates into build, that delivery is on time and on budget, and that the final experience matches expectations. That’s a very different proposition to the traditional model.”

Investment in People and Workplace Culture

Alongside its structural and commercial changes, LOCK5 has also reinforced its focus on workplace culture, wellbeing, and operational consistency.

The company has introduced structured working patterns, time off in lieu systems, and regular team engagement sessions to support staff performance and retention.

Founder Rob Mackay emphasised that people remain central to the company’s success.

“If you want a team that performs consistently at a high level, you have to look after them properly,” he said. “Our clients feel the difference when our team arrives on site, and that culture is something we will protect as we grow.”
