On Saturday, Mahindra & Mahindra recorded 100,000 bookings for Scorpio – N within 30 minutes of the booking commencement starting at 11:00 am. The company said in a statement that the bookings are equivalent to the value of an ex-showroom of approximately 18 crores or $2.3 billion.
On the other hand, customers who were unable to take advantage of the introductory price due to the technical glitch after which booking rushed, used social media to vent out their anger and frustration on the Mahindra and Mahindra official account and also targeted chairperson Mahindra Group, Anand G Mahindra who claimed that the company is taking its buyers for a ride.
Further, the company claimed that this is the fastest booking received for any car model. The customers’ excitement for the all-new Scorpio – N is extraordinary, it received 25,000 bookings within one minute of booking commencement.
Meanwhile, Scorpio – N broke the records of XUV 700 which had received 100,000 bookings within 57 minutes when it started accepting bookings on October 21.
The deliveries of Scorpio – N will start on September 26, 2022. The company has planned to deliver 20,000 units of brand new Scorpio – N by December 2022 and Z8L variant will be prioritized. The company will inform its customers about the delivery date by the end of August 2022.
Also, the booking website managed the huge rush of bookings well but there was a brief glitch with the payment gateway provider. However, Mahindra & Mahindra assured the customers by saying that the time stamp before the payment has been properly recorded on the booking website. Hence, each customer will have their rightful place in the order sequence and according to which first 25,000 will be considered for the introductory price.
The introductory prices for the variants are applicable for the first 25,000 bookings The prices of the later bookings will be the same as the common price at the time of delivery. The company will continue to take the bookings online as well as at the dealership.
