Olympia Unveils £1.3 Billion Transformation With New Venues, Hotels and Entertainment Spaces in London

Olympia London has announced a major wave of new openings set to launch from 15 June as part of its £1.3 billion regeneration project, positioning the historic landmark as a new global destination for entertainment, hospitality, culture, and large-scale events.

The transformation introduces a fully integrated ecosystem combining live entertainment venues, luxury hotels, dining spaces, and public areas, redefining the visitor experience for organisers, exhibitors, and guests.

New Entertainment and Music Venues to Launch

A key highlight of the redevelopment is the launch of British Airways ARC, a 3,800-capacity live music and entertainment venue operated by AEG Presents. Opening on 16 June, the venue will debut with performances from major international and UK artists, including Self Esteem, McFly, Zac Brown Band, Van Morrison, and Khalid.

In addition, the British Airways Theatre, a 1,575-capacity cultural venue operated by Trafalgar Entertainment and The Shubert Organization, will open in 2027. It will become London’s largest permanent theatre to open in over 50 years, marking a major milestone in the capital’s performing arts scene.

Premium Food and Beverage Destinations at Olympia

The redevelopment introduces a curated mix of bars, restaurants, and social spaces designed to extend visitor dwell time and enhance networking opportunities.

Under the rooftop Canopy, visitors will find new dining concepts including Bar Arriba, Wolves of Tokyo, Lillie’s, and Arbour—a multi-vendor food hall featuring brands such as Fry Baby, The Rambler, Whammy Burger, and Café Modo.

Additional hospitality venues have opened within the historic Pillar Hall, including Idalia, Pepperbird, and the upcoming Upstairs at Pillar Hall live music space.

Major Hotel Openings for Business and Leisure Travelers

Olympia is also expanding its hospitality offering with two major hotel launches:

  • Hyatt Regency London Olympia, a 204-room five-star hotel opening on 6 July
  • citizenM London Olympia, a 146-room lifestyle hotel opening in early summer

These additions aim to support both business and leisure visitors attending exhibitions, conferences, and live events at the venue.

New Public Spaces and Cultural Experiences

The redevelopment includes 2.5 acres of new public spaces designed to enhance accessibility and visitor engagement. Key features include Olympia Canopy, The Square, and Olympia Way—a 250-metre pedestrian street connecting Kensington (Olympia) station to the wider destination.

A major visual highlight will be The Canvas, an 83-metre-long digital screen designed for immersive art installations, live content, and large-scale activations.

Blending Heritage With Modern Innovation

Olympia London has been a landmark for over 140 years, and the redevelopment aims to preserve its heritage while transforming it into a next-generation event destination.

The site will continue hosting major exhibitions and international events, including London Wine Fair, Hyper Japan, and London Premier Padel P1, alongside new conferences and cultural programmes.

Economic Impact and Future Vision

Once fully operational, the Olympia redevelopment is expected to contribute over £600 million annually to the UK economy, support around 7,000 jobs, and attract approximately 3.5 million visitors to its hotels, venues, and events each year.

With its combination of entertainment, hospitality, and event infrastructure, Olympia is positioning itself as one of London’s most significant mixed-use cultural destinations, designed to serve global audiences and the UK events industry alike.
