Mumbai, Maharashtra | 12 January 2026 – In a significant move to strengthen Tamil Nadu’s position in the global technical textiles value chain, Messe Frankfurt Trade Fairs India Pvt Ltd has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Department of Textiles and Guidance Tamil Nadu, Government of Tamil Nadu, to launch the Techtextil India Summit – Tamil Nadu Edition.
The MoU was signed on 25 November 2025 in Coimbatore, paving the way for the Techtextil India Summit 2026, scheduled to take place from 26–27 November 2026 at CODISSIA, Coimbatore, one of South India’s leading industrial and textile hubs.
Techtextil India Summit to Be Held Biennially in Tamil Nadu
Under the agreement, the Techtextil India Summit will be organised in Coimbatore every alternate year starting 2026, with the objective of creating a dedicated knowledge and collaboration platform for India’s rapidly growing technical textiles, nonwovens, and composites sector.
This long-term partnership will see Messe Frankfurt Trade Fairs India conceptualise, curate, and deliver five editions of the Techtextil India Summit in Tamil Nadu over the coming decades, supporting the next phase of growth for India’s high-value technical textile industry.
Strengthening India’s Technical Textiles Ecosystem
As India’s leading B2B exhibition platform for technical textiles, and part of the globally renowned Techtextil brand, the summit aims to facilitate knowledge exchange, technology transfer, and global industry engagement. The collaboration brings an internationally recognised platform closer to India’s largest textile and apparel manufacturing base.
The MoU was signed in the august presence of Thiru. M K Stalin, Honourable Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, during the TN Rising Investment Summit, underscoring the State’s commitment to advanced textile manufacturing and innovation-led growth.
Government of Tamil Nadu Highlights Industry Potential
Speaking at the ceremony, Smt. R. Lalitha, IAS, Director of Textiles, Department of Textiles, Government of Tamil Nadu, said:
