Prague to open its first permanent digital art gallery

Prague will welcome a new hub for Digital and Transmedia art next month as the signal space opens its permanent gallery in a pre -market hall.

Gallery will be launched Tomorrow’s echoesAn exhibition of artists and studios working at the intersection of technology, data and creative practice. The show examines the development of digital culture and how it is being shaped by new devices and processes.

Algorithms, human input, light, sound, movement, including rhythm and data will be on the performance of eight work. Playmodes are among them SignalWhich mixes visual canvas, sculpture and digital screen. The work is built around a matrix of 12 x 4 rotating light bars, supported by custom software and hardware developed by artists.

Beyond the exhibitions, the signal space will host the signal playground, an interactive environment where children and family can detect the story through digital art and technology.

Martin grandson, the founder of the signal space, said: “Every work offers a different way of thinking about the future – not as far away, but as a web of options, habits, memories and technical gestures that shape our everyday. This is not just a premiere, this is a declaration.”
