The Swachh Sujal Gaon Exhibition recently showcased the transformative impact of clean drinking water in villages across Uttar Pradesh. Organized under the Jal Jeevan Mission, the exhibition highlighted how access to safe water has improved public health, education, and community development.
Through a series of models, photographs, and live demonstrations, the exhibition narrated stories of villages where the installation of tap water connections has significantly reduced water-borne diseases. Women, who earlier had to walk long distances for water, are now spending more time on productive work and education.
Visitors were able to witness firsthand how rural schools have benefited from clean water supply. Children now have access to safe drinking water, leading to improved attendance and overall well-being. Exhibits also highlighted sanitation improvements, linking water access with better hygiene practices.

Officials from the Ministry of Jal Shakti stressed that the exhibition was not just a showcase but also a knowledge-sharing platform, inspiring other states to adopt similar models of clean water distribution.
Special sections were dedicated to technology-driven water management, including smart meters, water purification methods, and rainwater harvesting systems being implemented in rural regions.
NGOs and self-help groups also participated, displaying innovative grassroots-level solutions that complement government initiatives. The exhibition emphasized the role of collective action in sustaining water availability.
The event concluded with a pledge by stakeholders to continue strengthening water infrastructure in villages, ensuring every household benefits from safe and clean water.
