Kolkata, September 2025 — Acclaimed visual artist Abir Karmakar opens his introspective new exhibition titled “Tailing Time”, a work where presence is defined by its deliberate absences. Held at Kolkata’s Academy of Fine Arts, the show invites viewers to contemplate what is hidden, omitted, or voided—a meditation on memory and the passage of time.
Across expansive canvases and sculptural spaces, Karmakar uses ghostly silhouettes, interrupted textures, and negative forms to evoke recollection and loss. These absences are as purposeful as the elements that remain, prompting viewers to fill in emotional and temporal gaps with their own experiences.
