The French Union of Event Professionals has released the annual report from the second edition of the UNIMEV Events Observatory, a monitoring initiative designed to track the performance and evolution of the events sector in France.
The report is based on self-reported data collected from a panel of event organisers across the country. By analysing these insights, the observatory provides consolidated indicators that help measure industry trends, market performance, and the overall dynamics of the events sector.
According to the latest findings, the 2025 data shows positive and sustainable growth for both trade shows and public events, confirming a continued recovery and expansion of the industry compared with the previous year.
Trade Shows Driving Market Growth
One of the most significant highlights of the report is the strong performance of trade shows in France. The data reveals a 4.9% increase in the number of exhibitors and a 12.2% rise in visitor attendance during 2025.
In addition, the net exhibition space expanded by 3.7%, reflecting increased participation and larger event formats. These indicators demonstrate that trade shows remain a key driver of the country’s events economy.
International trade fairs recorded the most notable growth, reinforcing France’s position as a leading global destination for exhibitions and professional events.
Industry Leaders Highlight Strategic Role of Events
Commenting on the findings, Béatrice Cuif-Mathieu and Philippe Pasquet emphasised the strategic importance of the events sector for the national economy.
According to the UNIMEV co-presidents, the 2025 results confirm that the French events industry is continuing on a stable growth trajectory. They also highlighted the critical role played by international trade shows in enhancing France’s economic competitiveness and global attractiveness.
These events not only facilitate business networking and international trade but also strengthen the country’s position as a hub for global industry gatherings.
Major Contribution to the Economy
The French Union of Event Professionals currently represents more than 430 member organisations, which together account for around 85% of the events sector’s activity in France by value.
According to the association’s estimates, the events industry generates approximately €10 billion in annual revenue and supports around 40,000 direct jobs across the country.
These figures highlight the significant economic impact of the sector, which includes exhibition organisers, venue operators, service providers, and event management companies.
Positive Outlook for the Events Sector
The findings from the UNIMEV Events Observatory suggest that the French events industry is entering a phase of steady and sustainable growth. With increasing participation from exhibitors and visitors—particularly in international trade shows—the sector continues to strengthen its role in global business networking and economic development.
As France remains a key destination for international exhibitions and conferences, industry stakeholders expect continued growth and innovation in the years ahead.
