EuroCIS 2027 has already secured bookings for 90% of its available exhibition space, highlighting strong demand for retail technology solutions ahead of the upcoming event in Düsseldorf, Germany.
The leading retail technology tradeshow is scheduled to take place from 16–18 February 2027 in Düsseldorf. As organizers begin allocating hall space, the strong booking figures indicate continued interest in technologies transforming retail operations, customer experiences, payments, workforce management, and loss prevention.
EuroCIS 2027 Expands Focus on Retail Technology
For its 2027 edition, EuroCIS will introduce an updated exhibition layout covering approximately two and a half halls. The revised format is designed to bring together technology providers, retailers, wholesalers, and other industry decision-makers around the latest developments in retail technology.
Elke Moebius, Director of EuroCIS, said the event has reached a strong booking level as hall space allocation gets underway.
“We are starting to allocate hall space with very good booking levels: 90% of the area available is already booked. This underlines retail technology’s continued great relevance for the sector,” said Moebius.
The strong early bookings point to continued investment in digital technologies as retailers seek to improve efficiency, understand customer behaviour, streamline operations, and develop new revenue opportunities.
Six Hot Topics Announced for EuroCIS 2027
EuroCIS has announced six key Hot Topics for 2027, developed in cooperation with the EHI Retail Institute, the event’s conceptual sponsor.
The themes reflect some of the most important technology areas currently influencing retail and are designed to highlight solutions that can affect both business operations and customer service.
AI & Data-Driven Retail
Artificial intelligence and data will be central themes at EuroCIS 2027. The AI & Data-Driven Retail focus will examine how retailers can use sales, inventory, and market data to support better business decisions.
Applications will include product selection, pricing strategies, demand forecasting, and artificial intelligence-based data analysis. As retailers generate increasing volumes of operational and customer data, technologies that can convert this information into actionable insights are becoming increasingly important.
Employee Empowerment
The Employee Empowerment theme will focus on digital technologies designed to support retail employees and improve workforce efficiency.
Topics will include workforce management, mobile task management, and other digital solutions that can reduce routine administrative activities. By automating repetitive processes, these technologies can allow employees to spend more time interacting with customers and delivering services.
Retail Media
Retail Media will explore the growing use of retail environments as advertising and communication platforms.
The theme will cover both physical and digital retail spaces, including digital signage, in-store screens, and electronic shelf labels. These technologies are enabling retailers to communicate targeted information and promotional content directly at the point of purchase.
The growth of retail media is also creating new opportunities for retailers to generate advertising revenue while providing brands with additional channels to reach consumers.
Future Checkout
The Future Checkout theme will examine how checkout technology is evolving as retailers look for faster, more convenient, and more flexible payment experiences.
Key areas will include self-service checkout systems, digital receipts, artificial intelligence-assisted product recognition, and other technologies designed to transform traditional checkout processes.
The focus reflects the growing demand for frictionless shopping experiences and the continued development of automated retail systems.
Loss Prevention
Loss Prevention will examine technologies designed to protect retailers from theft, fraud, inventory discrepancies, and other operational risks.
The theme will include artificial intelligence-powered video analysis, real-time inventory controls, fraud detection technologies, and sensor-based systems.
These solutions can help retailers identify potential risks more quickly while improving visibility across stores and inventory operations.
Future Payment
The Future Payment theme will look at the expanding range of payment technologies available across the retail environment.
Topics will include cash and card payments alongside mobile payments, biometric authentication, instant payments, and digital currencies. The theme reflects the continued evolution of payment preferences and the need for retailers to support multiple payment methods.
Cybersecurity and Retail Catering Also on the Agenda
In addition to the six main Hot Topics, EuroCIS 2027 will feature dedicated areas addressing cybersecurity and retail catering.
Cybersecurity is becoming increasingly important as retailers connect more systems, devices, payment platforms, customer data, and cloud-based services. The dedicated focus will highlight technologies and approaches aimed at protecting retail infrastructure and sensitive information.
Retail catering will provide another area of focus within the broader retail technology environment, reflecting the convergence of retail, food service, and customer experience.
Supporting Program to Add Innovation and Networking
EuroCIS 2027 will also feature a broad supporting program designed to complement the exhibition.
The program is expected to include dedicated stages, guided innovation tours, awards, and other special areas. These formats will give visitors opportunities to discover new technologies, learn about industry developments, and connect with technology providers and retail professionals.
The combination of exhibition space and supporting content is intended to provide visitors with insights into practical applications of emerging technologies across the retail value chain.
EuroCIS 2027 to Connect Retail Technology Leaders
EuroCIS 2027 will bring together technology providers and decision-makers from retail and wholesale, financial services, hospitality, food service, and related industries.
With 90% of available exhibition space already booked, the event is entering its hall allocation phase with strong exhibitor demand. The six Hot Topics also demonstrate the broad range of technologies shaping the future of retail, from artificial intelligence and data analytics to payments, checkout systems, retail media, workforce technology, and loss prevention.
As retailers continue to invest in digital transformation, EuroCIS 2027 is expected to provide a platform for technology companies and industry professionals to explore solutions designed to improve operational performance and customer experiences.
