2026 London Christmas Party Survey: Thursday Evenings Remain Top Choice as Corporate Event Demand Stays Strong

New Survey Reveals High Demand for London’s Christmas Party Venues

Companies planning their festive celebrations are being encouraged to book early, as new findings from the 2026 London Christmas Party Survey reveal continued strong demand for the capital’s most sought-after Christmas party venues. The research, conducted by Venue Search London, highlights changing booking patterns and growing competition for premium December dates.

Thursday Evenings Continue to Dominate Corporate Christmas Party Bookings

According to the survey, Thursday evenings remain the preferred choice for corporate Christmas celebrations, with 43% of buyers either having already booked or planning to book a Thursday event.

The continued popularity of Thursdays reflects the lasting impact of post-pandemic workplace trends, with organisations increasingly concentrating festive celebrations around a limited number of high-demand dates.

Early Planning Becomes More Important Than Ever

The research suggests that businesses hoping to secure the best venues and preferred dates should begin the booking process as early as possible.

With demand focused on a small number of premium evenings, competition for London’s leading Christmas party venues remains intense, making advance planning essential for event organisers seeking maximum choice and availability.

Venue Search London CEO Highlights Changing Market Trends

Sam Gill, CEO of Venue Search London, said booking trends have evolved significantly over the past 25 years.

He noted that while Fridays were once the most popular choice for corporate celebrations, demand has now shifted heavily towards Thursday evenings. Gill also advised organisers to consider alternative dates, daytime events, or more flexible formats to secure better value and wider venue options.

For venues, he suggested maintaining premium pricing for peak dates while adopting flexible pricing strategies early in the sales cycle to maximise occupancy and profitability throughout December.

Strong Booking Intent Signals Healthy Festive Events Market

The survey also indicates positive momentum across the corporate events sector.

Currently, 17% of buyers have already confirmed their Christmas party venue, while another 32% have received approval and are actively planning or booking their events. September continues to be the busiest booking month for festive and year-end celebrations.

These figures demonstrate sustained confidence among businesses investing in employee engagement and corporate celebrations.

Dining Preferences Continue to Evolve

Traditional seated dinners remain the most popular format, with 45% of planned events including seated dining. However, this figure has declined slightly from 49% in 2025, reflecting the continued rise of more relaxed event styles.

Buffet dining, bowl food concepts, and street-food-inspired catering options are becoming increasingly popular as organisations seek more informal and interactive experiences for guests.

Hybrid Events and Flexible Formats Gain Popularity

Evening celebrations still dominate the market, accounting for 66% of planned events. However, the survey shows growing interest in hybrid formats, with 22% of companies planning events that combine daytime business activities with evening social celebrations.

This trend reflects the increasing integration of networking, team-building, and festive entertainment into a single corporate experience.

Corporate Christmas Party Budgets Continue to Increase

Despite ongoing economic pressures, businesses are allocating larger budgets for festive events in 2026.

The estimated average spend per guest has increased from £111 plus VAT in 2025 to £115 plus VAT in 2026. Meanwhile, the average estimated event value has risen significantly from approximately £17,758 plus VAT to £20,147 plus VAT per event.

The findings suggest that organisations continue to prioritise employee celebrations and corporate hospitality as valuable investments.
