AIME has strengthened its leadership team with the appointment of Monica Kent-Giles as Marketing Director and Brooke Campbell as Buyer Engagement Director, as preparations gather pace for AIME 2027 in Melbourne next February.
The two senior appointments are aimed at supporting the continued growth of AIME and enhancing the experience for exhibitors, buyers and business events professionals attending the show. The appointments come as the team prepares for the next edition of one of the Asia Pacific region’s major business events industry gatherings.
AIME Appoints New Marketing and Buyer Engagement Directors
Monica Kent-Giles and Brooke Campbell have joined the AIME executive leadership team at an important stage in the development of AIME 2027. Their combined experience across marketing, communications, business events, hotels, convention centres and destination organisations is expected to complement the existing leadership team.
Silke Calder, AIME Event Director, is entering her seventh year leading the AIME team. She said the new appointments would introduce fresh perspectives while building on the experience already present within the organisation.
According to Calder, AIME continues to expand in both scale and industry impact, attracting an increasingly broad international business events community from across Asia Pacific and other global markets.
She said strengthening the executive team would help AIME further develop the quality of connections between exhibitors and buyers while delivering an enhanced experience for the international business events community.

Monica Kent-Giles has taken on the role of AIME Marketing Director, bringing extensive senior-level experience in brand management, communications, digital marketing and events.
Her professional experience spans multiple international markets, including Asia Pacific, Europe, the Middle East, Africa and the United States. Over the course of her career, Kent-Giles has worked across a range of industries and held senior marketing positions with major organisations.
She began her career at the Melbourne Convention Bureau, giving her an early connection to the business events sector. She later held senior marketing positions with News Corp in the United Kingdom and Australia, the Recruitment, Consulting and Staffing Association, Melbourne Airport and PMY Group.
Her experience includes developing brands, managing communications strategies and supporting commercial growth across diverse business environments.
Kent-Giles Brings Business Events Experience to AIME
Kent-Giles has also attended AIME over several years, giving her first-hand exposure to the show’s role within the business events industry.
Reflecting on her appointment, she highlighted the value of the connections created through AIME and the opportunities available to strengthen its international presence.
She said that attending AIME over the years had allowed her to experience the energy, connections and value generated by the event for the business events community.
With AIME preparing for its 2027 edition, Kent-Giles is expected to focus on strengthening the event’s brand and marketing presence while supporting its continued engagement with audiences across international markets.
Her combination of marketing leadership, communications experience and knowledge of the business events sector adds another dimension to the AIME leadership team.
Brooke Campbell Appointed Buyer Engagement Director
Brooke Campbell has joined AIME in the newly created position of Buyer Engagement Director, bringing more than two decades of experience across the business events and hospitality sectors.
Her professional background covers hotels, wholesale, corporate events, convention centres and destination bureaux. She has held senior roles with organisations including Experience Gold Coast, the New Zealand International Convention Centre and the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre.
The Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre is particularly significant to AIME, as it serves as the host venue for the event in Melbourne.
Campbell’s appointment is focused on strengthening the buyer experience and further developing AIME’s engagement with qualified business events planners from important domestic and international markets.
Focus on the AIME Buyer Journey
A key priority for Campbell will be enhancing the overall buyer journey before, during and around the AIME event.
The newly created Buyer Engagement Director role reflects the importance of carefully matching exhibitors with buyers and decision-makers who have relevant business requirements.
Campbell said the strength of AIME comes from its ability to connect exhibitors with a curated group of decision-makers who are ready to conduct business.
She added that the objective for AIME 2027 would be to further improve this process so that meetings taking place on the show floor are as productive and valuable as possible.
The approach places buyer engagement at the centre of AIME’s strategy as the event continues to attract business events professionals from across key global markets.
