Canada Records Major Convention Successes and Industry Recognition
Canada witnessed several notable achievements in the business events sector during the month. Ottawa successfully hosted the 31st Triennial World Conference of the Associated Country Women of the World (ACWW) at The Westin Ottawa, bringing together delegates for governance meetings, educational programs, networking sessions, and cultural activities.
Meanwhile, Rogers Centre Ottawa reported growing demand for first-time conferences across sectors including Indigenous affairs, engineering, energy, and science. Argentina’s Smart City Expo Santiago del Estero emerged as another major highlight, attracting more than 150 companies, institutions, and organizations while featuring over 250 speakers from academia, government, and industry.
The event focused on critical topics including artificial intelligence, digital transformation, education, housing, urban safety, and quality of life. Organizers also introduced a dedicated networking area designed to encourage collaboration among businesses, policymakers, and technology leaders.

New Zealand and Australia Strengthen Convention Industry Leadership
New Zealand’s Te Pae Christchurch Convention Centre celebrated four successful years of operation, reporting more than 865 national and international events and welcoming over 422,000 visitors since opening.
The venue continues to strengthen its international reputation through multiple certifications, including Toitū Net Carbon Zero, EnviroMark Gold, Qualmark Gold, ISO 9001, ISO 22000, and AIPC Gold Certification, highlighting its commitment to quality and sustainability.
In Australia, Cairns secured the hosting rights for the 6th World Ecoacoustics Congress in August 2026, reinforcing the region’s growing profile as an international conference destination. Business Events Cairns & Great Barrier Reef expects the congress to strengthen the region’s long-term business events pipeline while attracting researchers and environmental experts from around the world.
ICC Sydney Expands Industry Leadership and Workplace Inclusion
International Convention Centre Sydney (ICC Sydney) continued to strengthen its industry position through several major achievements.
Michelle Zangari, Senior Manager of Live Events, joined the Venue Management Association Board, reflecting the venue’s ongoing contribution to leadership within the live events industry.
ICC Sydney also earned Gold Tier status in Pride in Diversity’s Australian Workplace Equality Index, recognizing its commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Additionally, the venue celebrated Global Exhibitions Day 2026 by highlighting the critical role exhibitions play in driving innovation, supporting business growth, creating employment opportunities, and promoting sustainable event practices across Australia.
South Korea and Thailand Expand International MICE Partnerships
South Korea-based EXPOLINE announced a strategic partnership with Global Experience Specialists (GES), becoming its authorized Korean logistics partner for U.S. trade shows and conventions.
The collaboration will support Korean exhibitors through international freight forwarding, customs clearance, exhibition logistics, onsite delivery, and complete booth transportation services, further strengthening cross-border exhibition participation.
Meanwhile, the Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (TCEB) launched its new “MaxiMICE Thailand” brand during IMEX Frankfurt 2026. The Hong Kong Tourism Board signed a three-year partnership with Informa Markets to bring The Festival of Connoisseurs to Hong Kong between 2026 and 2028.
Designed as a city-wide luxury showcase, the event will feature premium sectors including yachts, luxury automobiles, jewellery, watches, fine dining, wellness, private aviation, and high-end travel experiences, reinforcing Hong Kong’s position as a global events destination.
In China, Hohhot hosted the country’s main International Museum Day celebrations, bringing together more than 500 museum leaders, scholars, cultural experts, and international guests while launching exhibitions and educational programs designed to strengthen cultural collaboration and tourism.
India’s In-Store Asia 2026 Demonstrates Continued Retail Innovation
India’s retail exhibition sector also showed impressive momentum with the successful conclusion of In-Store Asia 2026 at the Bombay Exhibition Centre in Mumbai.
The 17th edition featured 80 exhibitors and attracted more than 5,000 trade visitors, showcasing innovations in retail technology, store design, architecture, visual merchandising, and customer engagement solutions.
