IMEX America 2026 Scheduled for October in Las Vegas
The 15th edition of IMEX America will take place from October 13 to October 15, 2026, in Las Vegas, Nevada. Organizers have confirmed that the complete education schedule will be available online in early September, allowing attendees to plan their learning experience in advance. The annual event remains one of the leading global gatherings for professionals involved in meetings, conferences, exhibitions, and incentive travel.
Five Signature Learning Tracks Inspired by ‘Design Matters’
A major highlight of the 2026 education program is the introduction of five dedicated learning tracks based on IMEX’s 2026–2027 Talking Point, “Design Matters.” These tracks include Designing for Human Needs, Design for Spectacle, Design Matters, Regenerative Design, and Tech Enabled Futures. Each track has been developed to explore how thoughtful event design can improve attendee experiences while encouraging innovation, creativity, and long-term industry growth.
Education Program Addresses Modern Event Industry Challenges
According to Tahira Endean, Head of Programming at IMEX, today’s event professionals are expected to embrace new technologies, respond to changing attendee expectations, demonstrate measurable business value, and deliver exceptional experiences while managing limited resources. She emphasized that face-to-face events continue to provide an important environment for collaboration, knowledge sharing, and solving industry challenges collectively.
Accessibility and Inclusive Event Design Receive Greater Attention
The Designing for Human Needs track will focus on creating more inclusive and accessible events for all participants. Educational sessions will cover accessibility planning, neurodiversity, mobility requirements, dietary considerations, sensory-friendly event environments, psychological safety, and strategies to create a stronger sense of belonging. IMEX noted that approximately 26 percent of adults in the United States live with a visible or invisible accessibility need, highlighting the importance of inclusive event planning.
Design for Spectacle Explores Immersive Experiences
The Design for Spectacle learning track will examine how organizers can create memorable large-scale experiences through immersive event production, sports venues, community celebrations, creative leadership, and efficient event operations. The sessions are expected to provide practical insights into producing engaging experiences that capture audience attention while delivering meaningful value for attendees and exhibitors.
Design Matters Examines the Science Behind Experiences
The Design Matters track will explore how event design influences attendee engagement, emotional connection, and brand perception. One featured session will introduce the concept of neuroaesthetics, examining how sensory experiences, memory, and human emotions contribute to stronger brand experiences and more effective event environments. The track aims to help planners understand the psychological impact of thoughtful event design.
Regenerative Design Promotes Sustainable Event Planning
Sustainability will remain a major focus through the Regenerative Design track. Sessions will cover environmentally responsible event planning, sustainable request for proposal (RFP) practices, reducing carbon emissions, smarter travel planning, responsible site visits, eco-friendly printing, technology optimization, and inclusive proposal development. The track encourages organizers to create events that generate positive environmental and social outcomes rather than simply reducing negative impacts.
Artificial Intelligence Takes Center Stage
The Tech Enabled Futures track will examine the growing influence of artificial intelligence and emerging technologies across the events industry. Participants will learn about AI-powered event operations, automation, digital transformation, and practical applications that improve planning efficiency. One featured session will specifically explore how AI can enhance personal branding and strengthen professionals’ digital presence in an increasingly competitive marketplace.
Additional Learning Opportunities for Event Professionals
In addition to the five signature tracks, the education program will also include dedicated sessions covering Advanced Event Logistics, Health and Well-Being, Impact, Experiential Event Design, Leadership and Culture, Marketing and Engagement, and Trends and Research. These educational streams are designed to provide valuable insights for professionals at every stage of their careers while addressing the latest developments shaping the global events industry.
Free Education and Professional Certification Credits
IMEX America will continue to offer its professional education program free of charge for registered attendees. The event will also feature Smart Monday, powered by Meeting Professionals International (MPI), offering specialized educational sessions for corporate event planners, agencies, and association professionals. Selected sessions will qualify for continuing education credits toward respected industry certifications, including Certified Meeting Professional (CMP), Certified Special Events Professional (CSEP), and ICCASkills.
