it-sa & ECSO Partnership Strengthens European Cybersecurity Collaboration

The European Cyber Security Organisation and it-sa – Home of IT Security have officially entered into a European Sovereignty Partnership, a strategic collaboration designed to position the trade fair as a leading hub for cybersecurity cooperation across Europe.

Recognised as one of the most important B2B platforms in the cybersecurity space, it-sa connects technology providers, businesses, policymakers, and industry specialists. Its ecosystem includes three core components: it-sa Expo, it-sa Congress, and it-sa 365, each playing a vital role in fostering knowledge exchange and innovation. The event operates under the patronage of Alexander Dobrindt and receives strong backing from institutions such as the Federal Office for Information Security, Bitkom, and TeleTrusT.

Through this partnership, it-sa strengthens its connection with ECSO’s extensive pan-European network of cybersecurity stakeholders, including organisations, experts, and industry leaders. This collaboration is expected to play a significant role in enhancing Europe’s cyber resilience and advancing its strategic independence in the digital domain.

According to Dr Joanna Świątkowska, the partnership represents a major step forward for the cybersecurity ecosystem. She highlighted that the collaboration will create new opportunities for high-level discussions, improve connections between industry players and policymakers, and contribute to building a stronger and more unified European cybersecurity market.

Echoing this sentiment, Thimo Holst noted that partnering with ECSO brings valuable European-wide perspectives and deeper engagement with institutions and communities. He emphasised that the alliance will further enhance the event’s relevance and attractiveness for participants from across Europe, while addressing the increasing demand for digital sovereignty.

One of the first visible outcomes of this collaboration is the ECSO Village, which will be featured at the upcoming edition of the trade fair in Nuremberg this October. ECSO will also take on a more active role in shaping the it-sa Congress by contributing strategic insights and supporting international participation.

Additionally, ECSO’s CISO Community and its wider network will play an integral role in enriching both the content and strategic direction of the event. Members will also benefit from exclusive opportunities and engagement activities before, during, and after the exhibition.
