WTM London, part of RX Global’s global exhibition portfolio, has announced its largest-ever donation to international safe water charity Just a Drop, following record-breaking fundraising efforts during WTM London 2025. The exhibition raised £16,600 through exhibitor contributions and match funding, reinforcing its long-standing commitment to sustainability and global community development.
WTM London 2025 Achieves Record-Breaking Charity Contribution
The 2025 edition of WTM London collected £8,300 through generous exhibitor donations. RX Global doubled this amount through match funding, bringing the total contribution to £16,600. In addition, visitors were encouraged to donate directly during the online registration process, further increasing the event’s overall charitable impact.
Just a Drop was also provided complimentary exhibition space at the event, enabling the charity to engage with attendees, hold meetings, and raise awareness about its life-changing water projects around the world.
Nearly Three Decades of Partnership with Just a Drop
WTM London has partnered with Just a Drop for 28 years, making it one of the exhibition’s longest-standing charitable collaborations. Throughout the partnership, the event has raised more than £140,000, helping 12,574 people through 17 safe water projects across nine countries.
Following the success of the 2025 campaign, WTM London has renewed its partnership with the charity for another year, with expectations of achieving even greater fundraising success at WTM London 2026.
WTM London 2025 Funds Watershed Restoration Programme in Nicaragua
The record-breaking donation from WTM London 2025 will directly fund a Watershed Restoration Programme in Nicaragua, supporting agricultural communities facing increasing climate-related challenges.
The initiative will be delivered through Just a Drop’s local partner, El Porvenir, focusing on the Waslala and Camoapa regions. These rural communities rely heavily on agriculture but have been significantly affected by drought, soil degradation, and changing weather patterns.
The programme aims to:
-
- Restore watersheds to improve underground water storage.
-
- Promote sustainable farming through agroforestry.
-
- Improve soil and water conservation.
-
- Increase forest cover.
-
- Strengthen long-term water security.
-
- Support environmental education within local communities.
These combined efforts will improve agricultural productivity while building resilience against climate change.
Addressing Water Challenges in Nicaragua
Although Nicaragua has abundant natural water resources, decades of damaged infrastructure following civil conflict, combined with frequent natural disasters, have limited access to clean water in many rural regions.
Currently, approximately 19% of Nicaragua’s population still lacks access to safe drinking water. Through watershed restoration and sustainable land management, the new programme seeks to provide long-term solutions for vulnerable farming communities.
Additional co-funding will further expand the project’s reach and increase its positive environmental and social impact.
WTM London Reaffirms Commitment to Sustainability
Chris Carter-Chapman, Event Director of WTM London, highlighted the importance of the partnership and the exhibition’s sustainability mission.
He said the organisation is proud to be a founding partner of Just a Drop and is delighted that exhibitor and visitor generosity resulted in the highest charitable contribution in the event’s history. He added that supporting sustainable initiatives remains a core part of WTM London’s values and that the partnership demonstrates the meaningful impact the exhibition industry can create.
Just a Drop Welcomes Continued Support
Fiona Jeffery OBE, Founder and President of Just a Drop, thanked WTM London, exhibitors, and attendees for their continued commitment.
She explained that access to safe water not only improves public health but also protects livelihoods by enabling communities to farm, grow food, and build sustainable futures. She said the record-breaking donation will help transform the lives of rural families in Nicaragua for many years to come.
Just a Drop Returns to WTM London 2026
Just a Drop will once again exhibit at WTM London 2026, where visitors will have the opportunity to learn more about the charity’s global water, sanitation, and hygiene projects and discover ways to support its ongoing mission.
As WTM London continues to combine international travel business with meaningful sustainability initiatives, its partnership with Just a Drop remains a powerful example of how exhibitions can create lasting positive impact beyond the event floor.
