The 4th edition of the Uttar Pradesh International Trade Show (UPITS 2026) has opened at the India Expo Centre & Mart in Greater Noida, bringing together manufacturers, MSMEs, exporters, artisans, entrepreneurs, international buyers and industry representatives from India and overseas. The five-day trade showcase is being held from 25 to 29 September 2026 and was inaugurated by Union Home and Cooperation Minister Shri Amit Shah in the presence of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Shri Yogi Adityanath.
The inauguration of UPITS 2026 marked the beginning of one of Uttar Pradesh’s major business and trade events, with the exhibition showcasing the state’s industrial capabilities, traditional craftsmanship, local products, emerging businesses and export potential. The 2026 edition is expected to feature more than 2,400 exhibitors, over 600 international buyers from around 90 countries and more than five lakh visitors during the five-day event.
Amit Shah Inaugurates UPITS 2026 in Greater Noida
Union Home and Cooperation Minister Shri Amit Shah formally inaugurated UPITS 2026 at the India Expo Centre & Mart, Greater Noida, alongside Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Shri Yogi Adityanath. The inaugural ceremony brought together senior government officials, ministers, industry leaders, exporters, entrepreneurs, international delegates and business representatives.
The ceremony also witnessed the participation of ambassadors and senior diplomatic representatives from several partner countries. These included H.E. Simon Wong, High Commissioner of the Republic of Singapore; H.E. Mikhail Kasko, Ambassador of the Republic of Belarus; H.E. Trinh Minh Manh, Ambassador of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam; and H.E. ONO Keiichi, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to India.
Shri Bhupendra Chaudhary, Hon’ble Cabinet Minister for MSME, Government of Uttar Pradesh, along with other state ministers and senior officials, also attended the inauguration.
UPITS 2026 Highlights Uttar Pradesh’s Economic Potential
Addressing the gathering, Shri Amit Shah described Uttar Pradesh as an important part of India’s cultural and economic identity and highlighted the state’s growing contribution to the country’s development. He pointed to Uttar Pradesh’s large consumer base, young workforce, agricultural strength, traditional industries and expanding manufacturing ecosystem as important drivers of economic growth.
According to the Home Minister, infrastructure development has also strengthened the state’s ability to attract investment and expand industrial activity. The growing network of expressways, industrial corridors, logistics infrastructure and the Noida International Airport were highlighted as key factors supporting connectivity and industrialisation.
Shri Shah also emphasised the importance of enterprise, exports and investment in accelerating economic development. He invited businesses and investors to explore opportunities in Uttar Pradesh and highlighted the state’s role in supporting the broader national objective of building a developed India.
UPITS Moves Beyond Traditional Exhibition Format
The Home Minister described UPITS 2026 as more than a conventional exhibition. The event provides a platform for trade, investment, technology, branding, knowledge exchange and cultural dialogue, bringing together traditional industries and modern business sectors.
He noted the evolution of the Uttar Pradesh International Trade Show across its previous editions, highlighting the increasing international engagement with the state’s business ecosystem. The fourth edition focuses on creating opportunities for commercial partnerships, investments, business agreements and international collaborations.
The participation of more than 600 international buyers from over 90 countries is expected to provide Uttar Pradesh-based businesses with opportunities to showcase their products and explore new markets.
Uttar Pradesh’s Defence and Manufacturing Potential Highlighted
During his address, Shri Amit Shah also highlighted India’s expanding defence manufacturing and export capabilities. He stated that India’s defence production has reached approximately ₹1.78 lakh crore, while Indian defence products are being exported to around 80 countries.
He also highlighted the development of the Uttar Pradesh Defence Industrial Corridor and the state’s efforts to strengthen manufacturing, investment and employment opportunities.
The Home Minister linked the economic development of individual states with India’s broader development ambitions, noting the contribution that Uttar Pradesh can make through its MSME base, manufacturing capabilities, exports, entrepreneurship and employment generation.
He expressed confidence that UPITS 2026 would facilitate new business agreements, investment opportunities and international partnerships for enterprises participating in the event.
Yogi Adityanath Highlights Global Opportunities for Uttar Pradesh
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Shri Yogi Adityanath welcomed international delegations, buyers, exhibitors and industry representatives participating in UPITS 2026. He described the trade show as a platform representing the aspirations, capabilities and changing economic landscape of Uttar Pradesh.
According to the Chief Minister, the exhibition provides an opportunity to connect products and talent from different districts of Uttar Pradesh with global markets. The event also brings together artisans, MSMEs, investors, technology providers and international buyers.

A key highlight of the inauguration was the launch of the portal associated with the One District One Product (ODOP) initiative. The initiative promotes distinctive products associated with different districts of Uttar Pradesh and seeks to provide them with wider market opportunities.
The ODOP platform also connects the state’s traditional craftsmanship, local products, food and cultural diversity with broader commercial opportunities. At UPITS 2026, these products are being presented alongside modern manufacturing and technology-driven industries.
