The Women in Exhibitions Network (WIEN) has unveiled its new North America Chapter board of directors, who will serve until 31 August 2027. The announcement marks another step in the organization’s mission to support and advance women across the global exhibitions and events industry.
Founded in 2018, WIEN has grown into a thriving international community focused on accelerating career opportunities for women while fostering collaboration, mentorship, and leadership development within the sector.
New Leadership Team for North America
The newly appointed board brings together experienced professionals from leading organisations across the exhibitions ecosystem:
- President: Toni Piela, head of strategy and M&A at RX North America
- Vice-President: Elizabeth George, senior conference lead at Informa Connect
- Secretary: Melissa Ooi, VP of manufacturing at Nineteen Group
- Membership Director: Dana Freker Doody, owner of Inktide Solutions
- Immediate Past President: Danica Tormohlen, VP content at Informa Markets
The board is further supported by ex-officio directors and chapter founders Martha Donato and Stephanie Selesnick.
Focus on Community and Industry Engagement
Speaking on her appointment, Toni Piela highlighted the importance of strengthening member engagement and creating meaningful connections across the industry. Over the next 18 months, the chapter aims to expand its community through in-person meet-ups, exclusive industry access, and enhanced networking opportunities.
Expanding Opportunities for Women in Exhibitions
WIEN North America continues to play a key role in empowering women through a mix of monthly webinars, leadership discussions, and live industry events. Membership is open to individuals and organisations, offering access to valuable networking platforms and professional development resources.
Recent sessions have featured influential leaders such as Kinsey Fabrizio, Joyce Leveston, and Heather Farley, providing members with insights from top decision-makers.
Upcoming Events and Global Engagement
Looking ahead, WIEN North America has lined up several key events, including a virtual session with Jessica Blue and in-person meet-ups at major industry gatherings. Members will also participate in a global WIEN networking event supported by Visit Detroit during IMEX America this October.
As WIEN continues to expand globally, its North America Chapter remains focused on building a strong, inclusive community where women in exhibitions can connect, collaborate, and grow their careers.
