Noida, 18th July 2026: The World Association for Small and Medium Enterprises (WASME) and CelticMandala have signed a strategic Memorandum of Understanding to establish and advance a dedicated wellbeing initiative for the small and medium enterprise sector.
The MoU was signed at the WASME International Secretariat in Noida. The partnership is being positioned as a one-of-its-kind initiative that recognises wellbeing not merely as an employee benefit, but as a competitive business advantage. It will encourage SME owners and decision-makers to view employee wellbeing as an important contributor to leadership effectiveness, workforce resilience, engagement, productivity and sustainable organisational performance.
Specific wellbeing programmes will be curated and delivered for:
-
SME founders, promoters and senior leadership teams
-
Managers, supervisors and emerging business leaders
-
Employees working across small and medium enterprises
-
HR professionals and individuals responsible for employee engagement
-
Industry associations and SME clusters
The proposed programmes may include leadership wellbeing, workplace emotional wellbeing, first aid for mental wellbeing, stress and burnout awareness, resilience-building, supportive workplace communication, wellbeing assessments, counselling support and capacity-building for managers.
CelticMandala will draw upon its network of psychologists, counsellors, trainers, educators and wellbeing professionals to design programmes aligned with the specific requirements of participating enterprises. The initiative will focus on practical interventions that can be adopted by SMEs without creating complex or costly organisational structures.
Speaking on the collaboration, Dr. Sanjiv Layek, Executive Secretary, WASME, said: “SMEs operate in highly demanding environments where business owners, managers and employees frequently manage pressure with limited institutional support. Through this collaboration, WASME seeks to bring structured and accessible wellbeing programmes into the SME ecosystem and help enterprises build healthier and more resilient workplaces.”
Mr. Javed Alam, Co-Founder, CelticMandala, said: “Wellbeing should not be treated as a standalone activity or an occasional workshop. It must become part of business leadership and organisational culture. A resilient leader builds a resilient workforce, and a resilient workforce gives an enterprise a genuine competitive edge. Through this partnership, we aim to make high-quality wellbeing support practical, relevant and accessible to SMEs.”
The initiative will also explore workshops, leadership sessions, employee assessments, counselling pathways, certification programmes, awareness campaigns and collaborative events for WASME members and the wider SME community.
WASME works to support SMEs through capacity building, policy advocacy, international cooperation, market linkages, access to finance and technology, and global business networks. (WASME) The new partnership will add a dedicated human-wellbeing dimension to this enterprise-development ecosystem.
