Expo 2020 in UAE to be Delayed by One Year

Covid19 has brought everything to a standstill!

In the light of lockdowns and travel bans implemented globally, UAE has proposed to delay Expo 2020 by one year. This is claimed to be a positive news for other countries too considering the tremendous outbreak of Covid-19.

Expo 2020 is to witness the presence of confirmed participants from over 190 countries. It is the much awaited mega event for the world organized by UAE. The organizers and exhibitors have been doing the required preparation from past few years for this mega event. It is important to reschedule the event in order to make it successful.

International Bureau of Exhibitions received the recommendations from the Steering Committee of Expo 2020 to postpone this mega event for a year. This mega event was scheduled for 173 days from October 10, 2020 to April 1, 2021.

Dubai, UAE that is to host the Expo 2020 is facing challenges due to the closure of Airports for the passengers across the globe. It is known that approximately25 million visitors are expected at Expo 2020 Dubai, UAE.

The important point that was also highlighted was that all the major businesses, consumers, sports, and MICE events are already postponed for a later date this year or for the next year. The team has also carried out sanitization process across the city.
